Al Misbah Academy

Sponsor a student

Al Misbah Academy logo

Every Sunday morning, students walk through the doors of Al Misbah Academy to learn the Qur'an and grow in faith and character. For many of them, that seat is only there because someone chose to sponsor their fees — families who are keen to pursue Islamic education but do not have the financial means to do so.

Today, you can support this in two meaningful ways:

Way 1

Purchase raw Western Australian Jarrah Honey

Half of every bottle's selling price — S$25.00 from TA 20+, S$30.00 from TA 35+ and S$37.50 from TA 45+ — goes to sponsoring student fees. Enjoy raw Jarrah honey with your family while building your Sadaqah Jariyah.

Way 2

Direct sponsorship & contributions

Help us keep our doors open and ensure no student is turned away due to financial constraints.

Local delivery

S$15.00 per location, which goes to the riders who bring your order, or self pick-up at Al Misbah Academy (Sundays, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

Jarrah honey grades & their everyday uses

Choose TA 20+ for everyday enjoyment, or TA 35+ and TA 45+ if you prefer a higher measured activity rating. All three are raw Western Australian Jarrah honey, with the same versatile food uses. TA stands for Total Activity — a laboratory measure, not a promise of stronger health benefits.

TA 20+

S$50.00

250g jar · Total Activity 20+

Daily wellness

Suggested as a gentle daily spoonful. Jarrah honey is naturally rich in phenolic compounds and shows antibacterial activity in laboratory studies, and many people enjoy it as a natural alternative to refined sugar.

Suggested uses

Try a spoonful in the morning, drizzle over breakfast bowls, toast or yoghurt, blend into smoothies, or stir into warm tea in place of sugar.

TA 35+

S$60.00

250g jar · Total Activity 35+

Higher activity

Often chosen when you want a little more. Studies suggest honey may help soothe sore throats and coughs, and higher-activity Jarrah honey is traditionally taken for throat and mouth comfort.

Suggested uses

Let a spoonful dissolve slowly for a scratchy throat, take in warm (not boiling) water, or enjoy with fruit and yoghurt. Some people also use it as a simple face mask.

TA 45+

S$75.00

250g jar · Total Activity 45+

Highest activity in our range

Our strongest labelled Total Activity. Published research on high-activity honeys has looked at honey applied to minor burns, cuts and ulcers, and honey has a long history of skin use. We share the research rather than making a medical claim about these jars.

Suggested uses

Take by the spoonful or in a warm drink. Some people apply a thin layer to minor surface skin. These are food jars, not sterile medical dressings — for deep, infected or serious wounds, please see a doctor.

S$37.50 of each jar’s selling price sponsors student fees at Al Misbah Academy.

All honey contains sugars and can raise blood glucose; higher TA does not mean less sugar or more antioxidants. No grade is a substitute for medical care. Never give honey to children under 12 months.

Product Snapshot: Jarrah Honey

Shared qualities of TA 20+, TA 35+ and TA 45+ Jarrah honey.

Botanical source
Nectar of the Jarrah tree (Eucalyptus marginata).
Native only to the old-growth forests of South-West Western Australia — a single-origin honey from one of the world's rarest eucalypt species.
Why it's rare
Jarrah trees flower only once every ~2 years.
Yields are shrinking due to land clearing and disease pressure on old-growth forests. This is genuine, natural scarcity — not manufactured hype.
What TA 20+, TA 35+ and TA 45+ mean
Total Activity — a laboratory measure of antibacterial activity.
TA measures antibacterial activity using phenol-equivalent laboratory testing. The higher the labelled number, the higher the measured activity. TA is not a dose, a medical grade, or a prediction of benefits when eaten. It cannot be directly converted into Manuka's UMF or MGO ratings.
Key qualities
Laboratory antibacterial activity, natural antioxidants, rich flavour.
Jarrah honey's antibacterial activity is associated with hydrogen peroxide and other naturally occurring compounds. It also contains phenolic compounds with antioxidant activity. These laboratory properties do not establish that eating it treats infections or digestive conditions. Composition and glycaemic response vary; TA does not measure sugar content or antioxidant levels.
Taste & texture
Dark amber, thick, caramel-like — smooth, not medicinal.
Less bitter and less medicinal-tasting than Manuka, which many people find more enjoyable for daily use — on toast, in tea, or straight off the spoon.

TA is not UMF or MGO

Jarrah TA and Manuka UMF/MGO describe different measures. There is no reliable direct conversion, and none of these labels alone proves that eating honey treats illness.

These details describe food and laboratory properties, not medical treatment. The TA rating alone does not establish health outcomes.

Independent Lab Analysis

For the curious: independent certificates verifying the antibacterial activity of our Jarrah honey. Tap a certificate to view the full report.

Benefits shared by all three grades

  • Natural antibacterial activity measured in laboratory testing; TA indicates this activity, not a treatment effect in the body.
  • Contains naturally occurring phenolic compounds with antioxidant activity; amounts vary by batch.
  • Some tested Jarrah honeys have a low glycaemic index, but all grades still contain sugars and raise blood glucose.
  • A smooth, naturally sweet alternative to refined sugar in food and drinks — use in moderation, not as an extra source of sugar.
  • Honey may soothe a cough in adults and children over one year; a higher TA grade has not been shown to give better cough relief.
  • Published research has looked at honey applied to minor burns, cuts and ulcers — we share that research, not a medical claim about these jars.

How to use

All three grades can be enjoyed on toast, porridge, fruit or plain yoghurt, stirred into warm (not boiling) drinks, or used in salad dressings and marinades. Enjoy small amounts as part of a balanced diet; there is no established therapeutic dose for these jars.

Never give honey to children under 12 months. If you have diabetes, count its carbohydrates and discuss it with your healthcare professional. Avoid it if you have a honey allergy. Published research has looked at honey applied to minor burns, cuts and ulcers; if you try that, keep it to minor surface skin and see a doctor for deep, infected or serious wounds — these jars are food honey, not sterile medical dressings.

Care tip

Has your honey crystalised or started to become too thick? This is totally normal, natural and a characteristic of raw honey. To soften, place the jar in warm water and stir after a few minutes.

Use warm rather than boiling water; prolonged high heat can reduce honey's enzyme activity. Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
